The Ballad of Tramadol

We can add another drug to the list of things I should never take again. I was supposed to have a tooth extracted on Thursday, but it turns out that I freak out so much, they have to put me under. In the meantime, since it’ll be a week before they can go in and get the tooth, the dentist gave me Tramadol, which my mom thinks is hilarious because my ( Read more... )

You're in tornado alley too?? I spent much of last night checking up on the safety of a friend, who in turn spent last week digging for her friends' possessions in Moore. We get tornadoes up here too, but only, like, one every few years. The intestinal fortitude of people who live where you do never ceases to amaze me.

And yeah -- drugs. I was given Oxycodone once (for pain from a kidney stone) and spent a good part of the day feeling like I was looking down on my body from up on the ceiling. I flushed the rest of the suckers down the loo. Sometimes it's best just to resort to the tried-and-true combo of Tylenol and Advil; at least they leave your brain intact.

Good luck with the extraction! I had myself put under both times I had it done. No regrets there! The thought of someone digging around in my mouth while I'm awake ... ugh.

My area of St. Louis had an actual funnel cloud touch down yesterday, not too far from where I live, actually. We had a downed tree in our parking lot, and neither my mom or I really breathed until my sister (who was nearest the tornado) got home from work.

The Tramadol will be going down the toilet shortly. Urgh. Never again. Tylenol and Advil it is for me.

I'm more excited now that I know I'm going under. I remember getting my wisdom teeth out perfectly and I don't need those memories. Ugh.
