It's That Time Of Year Again!

In honor of All Hallow’s Eve, I’m inviting trick-or-treaters to my ‘door.’ Comment “trick-or-treat” to this post and…well, you know the drill. Treats can be anything that strikes my fancy (pics of fave actors or pairings, one sentence fics, graphics, a few words why I’m glad to have you on my flist, etc. etc.). The more “houses” to visit the more ( Read more... )

Skye stood and looked at the sign over the doors for so long that she knew she looked like a tourist, but she didn’t give a damn. A lot of thoughts were tugging at the nerves that were currently fraying her insides to shreds, but mostly, she just thought: “The Black Widow wants to meet me here“Got something against sushi?” Melinda chewed on a toothpick. She probably wouldn’t even take the aviators off when they went inside, Skye knew. How on earth the woman made the taciturn-and-leather-thing work, Skye didn’t know. She’d tried that look once. It had just led to a lot of people telling her she was sulking, so Skye had gone back to the brighter colors ( ... )

Natasha looked at Melinda. “You didn’t tell her?”

“Not mine to tell.” Melinda took a seat, leaving a stool between her and Natasha open-oh, holy crap, Skye was supposed to sit there and she had met the Black Widow before and what the hell was going on? Melinda plucked up a dragon roll and popped the dome covering off. “But I can, if you want ( ... )

“You took me to St. Agnes,” Skye said. When the room began to swim, she grabbed the edge of the counter to keep upright, and barely felt Melinda’s hand at her back, propping her up. She was glad it was Melinda that had come along because Grant, as much as she loved him, might have tried to do more, might have demanded things of Natasha, and Skye needed to think, needed to process the thoughts racing through her head. “Why? Why take me there and not leave me anything?”

“Because I did not want them to find you or know about you. Your father…it is complicated.”

“Complicated how?” Skye asked.

“Complicated in that he didn’t remember you exist,” Natasha said.

Skye thought she had prepared herself for every possibility: that her parents were dead-and her mother, her mother was dead and those years of feeling abandoned weren’t things that were going to come back, she realized and she would deal with that later-that they hadn’t wanted her, that they had been unable to love her. But her father had forgotten her ( ... )

Watching Clint pace back and forth makes her think of some of the ancient American movies that had gotten her through the long nights of studying for her doctorate, Natasha realizes somewhere between all of her reactions of why did I encourage this habit? and Oh, god, we’re going to have actual penguins in this station if this pans out, which are, admittedly, not thoughts she ever expected to entertain. But Clint’s announcement that they’re going to be parents has sparked a flurry of activity in a group of bored scientists looking for a new hobby, and now Natasha is standing in the back, watching Clint and thinking he looks like an expectant father from an old movie ( ... )

Hahaha. Cool Aunt Darcy and the Science Uncles. I like it. They should go on a tour of Antarctica and play for the penguins. I thought you and crazy4orcas would appreciate some Antarctica AU. ;) She got the first kiss, you got the expectant papa scene.

In the end, the apartment they picked made Clint laugh so hard that he clutched his belly and had to use a wall to keep himself upright. Natasha and Jess just blinked at him several times, waiting for the laughter to fit. When Natasha looked at her new roommate, Jess shrugged, her eyebrows temporarily lifting in an I don’t know either motion. “Care to share with the rest of the class, Barton?” she asked.

“That.” Clint swiped tears of laughter from his eyes and pointed at the number on the door. “You’re both Spider Ladies and your apartment number is officially Number Eight.”

Jess and Natasha just stared at him.

“You know? Because spiders have eight legs and…” Clint trailed off, his brow furrowing. “Oh, come on, you have to admit, that’s funny. That’s Red Skelton levels of funny.”

“This is the man you’re sleeping with,” Jess told Natasha.

She hmm’d. “I’m aware,” she said, and Clint pouted a little. “But it’s nice that he’s so easy to amuse ( ... )

The first clue that Lois had that Perry had lied to her again was that her new photographer chucked a lens at the approaching thug. Sure, Sally Wallace nailed the guy right on the nose and likely broke said nose, but in that moment, Lois knew two things with certainty: no photographer worth his or her salt would throw a lens that valuable, and Sally wasn’t the photographer Perry had foisted on her right before this assignment ( ... )

*FLAILING, MASSIVE, SPASTIC FLAILING* *SQUEEEEEEEEE*

What an AWESOME gift! THANKS SO MUCH!

she doesn’t know if she steps toward him or he crowds her space, but suddenly he’s kissing her and she is definitely kissing him back. His lips are chapped, but she doesn’t give a damn, not when kissing him feels like this. *SWOONS*

And I love that even though Clint woke her up in the middle of the night, she still got the "it's time" line!

Hahaha, I thought you'd appreciate their first kiss. It's what I planned even before you commented! They're going to be such a pain for the others to deal with (except that Darcy and Jane will totally be like, we did all of this to get the two of you together and then reveal a bunch of crazy things they've done that the others never even suspected. Muhahahhahaha.

Very welcome!! Thanks for the awesome comment! Glad it was swoonworthy!
