One of my college friends passed away unexpectedly on Thursday night. She was 31. When I got the email on Friday night, I have to admit I thought it was a joke. I had just seen this woman a few weeks ago; we don't live that far apart

Eesh. And in that kind of awful case, I always worry I won't hear about it until well after it happens, too.

Yeah, exactly. The funeral/ memorial was sad, funny, horrible, and good all at the same time.
