[Edward opens the door slowly, looking a little worse for the wear. Things with Ema... well, they could have gone better.]

...well. You've saved me the trouble of going to look for you.

No. [He still doesn't know exactly what happened or even when; he imagines that's the way Edward wanted it.]

Edward hasn't said anything.

[She nods.]

Alright.

[Now she just has to work out the details of what happened so she can figure out if she needs to do anything.]

[Slugger watches until Scout leaves, then looks at Ai. It sounds to him like Edward got Scout killed.]

[Yes, it does sound like that. Ai looks thoughtful, a glint of anger in her eyes. She turns to Slugger though and askes]

Do you know how to play marbles?

[The question is unexpected and when Slugger realizes how stunned he must look, he shakes his head.]

The only game I've played is tag. And Scrabble. [And hide-and-seek but it was more like hide-and-stalk.]

I'll come and teach it to you sometime.

[She nods and then turns to start following after where Scout went. She has a feeling who he's going to see.]
