I have a dilemma as such. I'm stuck with what to do. I have my mpregbigbang that I need to do and I had a brilliant idea for it. It was basically a 8th year fic in which Draco and Harry still have a shaky relationship (in the sense that Draco still doesn't like 'Potter'), but a fight turns into a shag and hello, pregnancy. And then they'd have to deal with ( Read more... )

I'm not completely familiar with big bangs and if you need to turn in a synopsis or not, but here's my advice:

Edit the 55k one while you're writing the 80k one (or finish the 55k one first, starting on the 80k one while it's out with betas). That way, by the time the turn-in date comes around, you'll have at least one of them finished. :) And if you finish the 80k one, you turn that one in since it was your original idea.

It's always good to have a plan B!

Finish the old one and use it. You can use the idea for the new one next year!

I'm sorry I didn't reply to this earlier!

I think that's what I'm going to do. It should have been obvious...but my muse is weird at times. Thanks, bb.

Finish the old one and clean it up so you're happy with it. But at the same time, outline the hell out of the new one, and get your notes down so you don't forget where you're starting out with it. So you get the old one in on time and don't need to worry about it, and start working on the new, longer 80k one now and next year it'll be ready to roll, right?

I give this advice hoping your brain is better than mine on working on things that don't have fest deadlines. :) Me? I stall when there's no deadline waiting on it...

I say finish and submit the one that is almost done, then start working on the other one to post nextyear or anytime in between <3 Maybe even for the harrydracompreg fest in the spring <3

That's a good idea, except harrydracompreg is a prompt fest. Maybe I could do two. This one that I can finish after all my fests are done and then a prompt one. Thanks bb <3

:) It's no problem, just wanted to make sure that the message actually arrived and didn't get lost in the vast black holes of the interwebs :p
