i've had the experience of God's prompting to cover a particular area for a particular test. All my seniors advised me to study a particular subtopic as the majority of the exam would come from the said subtopic. But when i was studying for the test, i felt God prompt me to study one of the other subtopics, and not only that, a particular lecture from that subtopic. I heeded the prompting, and guess what? THE EXACT SAME LECTURE CAME OUT FOR EXAM! And about HALF the questions were from that subtopic and not from the other one as advised by the seniors. Its amazing how the hand of God really guides you when you place your trust in Him, and seek His Kingdom first!
