Haaa! As mentioned last night (this morning?) the other PotC 2 drabble.

Title: Branding Iron (...sucky title. Deal.)

I never would have thought to make a ficlet out of that particular scene, but now that I've read it I'm really glad you wrote it. I can TOTALLY see Beckett being all calm and sadistic with the branding iron. *__*

This may just be a personal thing brought on by fanon, but I would imagine that Jack Sparrow would do the arrogant grin after getting branded...but only to cover up the fact that he's in excruciating pain. Maybe he would stare Beckett down with a fierce, clenched grin instead? Sort of a "you're damn right I'm a pirate, and you're next on my list" sort of face?

And you were right...the last line should be "says" because the rest of the fic is in present tense as well. ^_^

Ahh. Beckett did come off as a twisted fuck, didn't he? As for Jack...I can't say I've read too many PotC fics, I just kind of pictured he and Beckett having like some personal history and this happening before Jack was like either a really good pirate, or before he was a pirate at all, maybe. Before he'd established his current persona, something like that. /making no sense

And, yay! I kind of thought it was says, but it sounded weird to me at the same time.
