If your mom DOES sign you up, you'll have to go through Segment 1, which lasts about 2 weeks. Then you will have 6 months to get 50 hours of drving time in, AND out of those hours, 10 of them have to be at night, trust me - test examiners DO check for your hours. (You have to write them down in a booklet).
Then you have to go for Segment 2, which lasts like 2-3 days, then your all set to take your drivers test.
And it doesn't matter if your 17 or 45, its the same amount of time for anyone taking drivers lessons.
So you're really better off going to take your drivers test right off the bat, BUT if you fail, thats $40.00 out of your pocket each time, and I believe you can only fail 2-3 times, and you then HAVE to take the Segments.
