The idea of 00s lists is a bit terrifying to me - partly because I find the whole list-making phenomenon a bit scary, whereas the charts is a *found* list... and partly because the 00s for me is scattered across a box of CDs I never listen to and two hard drives I've never catalogued! I like the idea of you doing the work in drawing up a singles list because I suspect our listening will have overlapped quite extensively and it would allow lazy me to recover some of the last - and I sort of feel 'lost' - decade with no effort. But: is there any way of doing something more collaborative? You could have the fun of drawing up the list, but just post a couple of lines about each song, and others could add theirs? And this decade will be surprisingly easy to do (as long as I don't worry too much about what's on it or obsess too much about the order), simply because not only have I made a ten best each year for P&J, but I'm also nominating ten-plus tracks a year for the poptimists poll, plus I've got the rest of the community reminding me of a lot that I'd forgotten about (though we all - i.e., me and Jessica - already forgot Thomas Rusiak's "Hiphopper

Also, I should write less formally, to differentiate it - I should re-read Kat's Rave 92 series and try and get tips.
