“Dean, turn around. Now.” Grace sounded calm. And when Grace sounded calm, she really wasn’t.
Dean didn’t turn the car around, but he did look over at his sister. “Why?”
“My ring’s gone.” The calm tone in her voice was slowly changing to a freaked out one. “I think it fell off in the house. We have to go back so I can find it.” Dean kept going. “Dean!”
“Calm down.” He pulled her missing ring from his pocket, and handed it over. “Better now?”
Grace nodded, and hugged him, then slipped the ring back on her thumb. “Yeah, thanks.”
As far as teenage girls went, Grace was pretty fearless. It seemed like nothing phased her. That was why, when Bobby heard a terrified scream come from his porch, he expected the worst.
What he found was Grace freaking out over a moth flying into the porch light.
“You mean to tell me that all of that screaming was over a moth?” Grace could tell he was trying not to laugh.
“They freak me out, okay?” She watched the moth. “They’re creepy.”
Bobby shook his head. “Just don’t scream next time you see one.”
