I totally feel for you. Temping at Royal Mail, I may as well have been a second-class citizen. Not fun. I hate temping.

Gah I wish what you say wasn't so true and I've watched it when I've temped in the pat. Doesn't make me feel any better about the big bad world of work that one day I'll have to meet again once I'm no longer signed off sick.

Oh dear. Some of them are truly appalling. My worst ever was script-checking for an exam board that we will not name; it ought to have been fun, because there were hundreds of temps in one room, but since we were treated as if we were actually doing the exam it was utterly horrible. And then they laid us all off with a midnight text message - indeed, funny if it weren't based on real events.

All in all, I was quite surprised when I got to the present post and found I actually had an induction and stuff. The manager had a list I was supposed to sign and everything! Usually it's, 'here's the filing cabinet, get on with it.'

One time I was temping no-one spoke to me and when i offered to fetch drinks they looked at me like i was the family set learning to speak! I smiled and said, 'so thats a no then'. The real irony, i was temping at an agency!
