How would I count textbooks? There are some textbooks I have read cover-to-cover. There are some I've only read certain chapters from.

Apart from textbooks, I am pretty shocked to realize I actually read some books in 2008. I *don't* think of myself as a reader :P. I tell everyone who asks that I don't read.

I do skim some things that I consider "not read". I quite frequently use the search inside this book function on amazon.com under multiple usernames to essentially read about half a book very inefficiently, but I hardly count that. That's "perusing".
