It could definitely happen - the last canon told us of him he was getting his act together.

Trey catches so much flak (and not without reason) but I always think of his character as the 'there but for the grace of god' version of Ryan. Future Trey only ever seems to appear in fic in relation to Ryan and really, he deserves his own moment in the spotlight.

Personally, I think S4 would have been a great deal more interesting with a returned Trey than Frank #$@^ Atwood, but hey, what do I know? :)
