that's exactly what i like about flying. when i was on my way back from portland to detroit, we flew over buffalo--and i remember being absolutely astonished when i realized i was looking directly down on niagara falls. nutty. and the tetons in wyoming are equally crazy.
enjoy your time in the hash bars and red light district. do nat butler proud.
The Red Light district was weird. Unfortunately no photos allowed. A mix of attractive and unattractive weomen. Probably fortunate that we had our new friend Eryc (friend of Henry and Luther) with us. He speaks Dutch and ran off a particularly tenacious coke dealer. We learned a lot about the history of the Netherlands and got to walk around probably 5 miles of the city or more. It was really great... probably hard to top, to tell you the truth, though I imagine being in a show atmosphere will be completely different.
The only thing I saw of interest at a "coffee house" was a hologram Bob Marley cigarette case. I thought about picking it up for you, but had no Euros on me at the time.
another weaver sibling weighing in on flying....taking off out of Seattle is cool, because you go up through the clouds and all of a sudden, boom, there's Mt. Rainier sticking up out of the top of the clouds. Crazy. jkw
Amster whaaaaaat??!!oranggrenadeMay 25 2006, 18:02:08 UTC
I just got back from amsterdam 2 weeks ago. Me and Alex met up with Matt Herron there. If I had realized you were going to be there soon I would have postponed the trip. If you have time you should check out this amazing park with awesome bike trails. You have to ride the ferry across the river from central station but it's totally worth it. It's the least costly thing we did the whole time we were there and it was soooooo much fun! Also there is a park near Leidseplein that has an awesome but very dangerous piece of playground equipment. We ran the children away from it and played on it for an hour. It's a giant metal circle that spins. If you jump on it while it's spinning and walk on it you will get thrown off in every direction. This is not for the faint of heart (or the especially inebriated)You should check it out but no broken bones ok??!! Well, have a great time! Find a nice dutch hooker and give her a kiss for me! ($50 for 15min) yeah ... I looked into it. :)
