Meanwhile, Kaiba makes certain to remind us that he is ALWAYS an anti-hero, at best! Even teaming up with local nameless pharaoh. Makes me wonder how much of that is meant to be his natural "I'm the best" character and how much is him already fighting the fate apparently guiding him. While YnYuugi gives him a general "would you give it a rest lives are at stake here". Priorities, Kaiba. Friends, then rivalry. ...okay, God Cards & Ghouls, friends, and then rivalry.
Also, every time I see how he uses his communicator with Mokuba here, I think Kaiba's a secret Star Trek fan. And him using a small fish in a big pond pun on Jou right after does not kill this theory.
oooooh, right. That's why friends still hit the top of the list with YnYuugi priorities. Cards = True Duelist = Friend! OF course! Seriously, don't expect any srs from me tonight. Or major canon focus. This chapter's reminding me YnYuugis are selective silent fellows.
Speaking of Star Trek Communications. Hey Marik, I want back stories on where you found these Ghouls. Tiny guy that can jump around real buildings and snap a lock on Kaiba's Disk mid-air? Where do you find that?!
Too bad it upped Kaiba's power level, locking his God Card like that. Don't you know this guy once gave an old man a heart attack, drove somebody else to suicide, and put kids through a literal death trap? ...oh, wait, who am I talking to. ((Seriously, Kaiba vs. Ishtar at their worst. No Items, just full blown trap building & mafia workings. Want.))
Also, I think that familiarity and even use of tricky games is why neither Kaiba nor YnYuugi even flinch at DEATH FALL THROUGH GLASS. Seriously, all they've done or faced, this is like "bitch please".
