Brunch is going to have a Riding Duel someday. This I swear on the life of his derpy motor scooter.
That said, despite it all I'm still kicking myself I didn't go see this movie. I didn't have the time, but still. Gah. Granted, since I've watched 5D's just in Japanese and GX in several languages other than English, I'd probably have spent most of it knowing who everyone was but going O.o;;;; at the voices no matter how well I thought they fit the characters or not.
...actually, I'm frankly quite impressed there were people under twelve in the audience. I didn't know anyone was still watching Yugioh among the younger set enough to want to go see the film. I figured it'd be a lot of people there for the nostalgia kick. (Maybe they all went last weekend.)
Oooooh- nowait, how unflimsy is the life of that scooter? And the duel should be on it!
And you can always get a hold of it later on film, if you like~ Or, do you have any late-showing theaters around? We have one of those here.
I think the current younger fanbase is quite soundly of the 5Ds fandom, namely since most of the flashback part there was restless silence, and then a big chorus of "YUSEI!" when it got to the third show part. No surprise, given it's on the Saturday morning lineup still. Yet the original YGO is on that too.
Oh, the point of the duel is to successfully pull off CARD GAMES ON MOTOR SCOOTERS. My apologies also about putting you through a Synchro Duel waaay back on OOC week if you're unfamiliar with 5D's. (I personally love the mechanic for playing - it's a lot of fun, and in the original Japanese each monster gets a fantastic corny speech recited by the duelist....)
I think the movie was supposed to be exclusively on a run for these past two weekends, but I'll poke around. If not, you're right, I think the DVD release is following shortly.
Awww, that's.....kind of adorable. <3 <3 <3 Now I'm imagining Yusei mobbed by a crowd of children and offering advice about bonds and friendship to them. I'd wish personally for a bit more original YGO love, especially since it is indeed still airing, but I'd imagine they market 5D's more heavily despite it being ages since I've seen any toys in the store besides cards.
It's okay~ I've been playing a WC2009 awhile at least. There's only vague storyline info, but it clued me in on the Synchro idea. I don't play it too much in my strategies (i.e. burn) but I know it well enough to follow.
That's a great thing - remember when we had to wait like three-fourths a year for a movie release?
Haha, that is true. x3 And even if I disliked 5Ds - which I don't - one has to applaud them for keeping the fandom running strong. (well, them and LK. x3)
Though. it makes me sad. thinking that might have been the last time seeing new footage/story line of DM...
I've seen some horrendous camera rip (horrendous, might as well be sound only, but major props to the guy that did it) and, even with some idea of what recent 5D's episodes explained and a basic idea of the film I spent half of it going 'wait what'. That is the nature of dubbed Yu-Gi-Oh, apparently.
I just hope that when/if it finally comes to England it's not London only.
...also, when Yuugi picks up Grandpa's bandanna? hyruskio's PSP played the final fantasy victory theme, perfect timing and everything, it took me about ten minutes to stop laughing kgjl
Oh. always. And always. And anytime something baffled me, the line of thought was "I'm watching this subbed asap." But dub was worth it to see it big screen. And have deja vu on the DM voices.
And if it came out in my smaller city, I'll keep hope for you outside the capital.
pffffff- Now I don't feel so bad on my only line of thought being "I should have given his death more attention in my 2017verse. Ohwait movie happening."

Also, was this just made for parodying or what?
