I was just in the process of trying to transfer all my music from my iPod back to my computer so I could normalise the volumes (there were a few albums that were horrifically loud). It finished, and then I got an error message. I checked and somehow I lost all the music off of my iPod and the folder on my computer that it had transfered to ( Read more... )

Check the wastebasket and don't delete caches. I'd be surprised if IPOD actually deleted the fuckers.

Wastebasket was empty, and only had 60 megs in cache...from what I can tell, it's all actually gone. I just can't figure out what the hell went wrong that caused it to delete both the origin and destination folders.

Can it be undeleted? What type of file system on these things. Its possible to undelete with FAT32 often. Got nortons tools or similar?

Is this a PC?

Yes, it's a PC, don't have norton tools yet. It is FAT32 (I believe), so I guess I should see about trying to undelete.
