I can hear the sloshing thud of tires churning against gravel outside my window, and my cat is licking himself on my bed.  I just went out driving and the aloneness in the car out in the world makes me realize how Christmas makes me feel like such an observer.  I see the Christmas lights and smell the fresh pine, listen to the crunch of tires on ( Read more... )

i agree with you a million times over. the more you give kids, the more they expect. like dudley from harry potter. or those kids from 'my super sweet 16' i think some parents think they can buy their kid's love. when i was younger, my family was hells poor. i remember receiving a few toys for christmas and being super excited and never dissapointed. now, i see my younger sister asking for my parents to buy her something wherever we are. not because she really wants it, but because she knows my parents will get it for her. which they do! ugh. and a few days later it just becomes a forgotten waste of space collecting dust..

dude, i know. if only there was something to be done about the insatiable gluttonous appetite of the typical American. it's disgusting, and it's the worst when kids are raised as a part of the corporate, commercial scheme, without even knowing anything differently. and then they grow up just to continue the cycle. it's brainwashing and it's ignorant and it makes me so angry GARR. stupid parents and stupid capitalist pigs, making people think they NEED something when they really don't. oh, what qualms i have with modern society.
