I'm going to have to pass on the poem bug that seems to have struck everyone recently.  I'm a pirate, not a poet.

So, anyone interesting out there?  There are quite a few characters in this place, or so I've noticed, but that begs the question of exactly who they are--one I intend to have answered today.  So, tell me a little about yourself.  I'm

Ohhh~ Well I'd like to think I'm interesting... but I think there are others that are much more so than me. I think all the animals are really interesting, for one! I don't think I've met a talking horse before. And....let's see... umm... Godot's coffee-fetish is kind of... I guess. And really, don't get me started on Vyers and Laharl! ...oh maybe I should lock that... oh well.

Hmm... you said about ourselves, didn't you? Well, we already talked some! Unless there's anything else you've thought about wanting to know, Leading Man~~

Well, you certainly seem to have met quite a bit of people. Enough that have left their impression on you, in any case.

I think we've covered that well enough, unless you have anything else you'd like to tell.

Glad to see the title stuck.

Oh no, I don't think I have much else to really say.

Ohoh but I forgot my most recent discovery of the most interesting people! And never encounter the two of them together! They'll ramble on and on and on nonstop, probably to the end of time if they're allowed it! Reno and Zack! Those two are crazy! They might even need a warning label placed on their foreheads: "May cause insanity" or something like that!

That something to tell alright!

"May cause insanity?" And what makes you say that? I'm fairly certain that there are those out there far better at that, unless these two carry a certain brand of it.

Ehh, you're a pirate? And you questioned it when I mentioned being the Pirate King? You're not one of those kinds, are you?

freedominthesky February 16 2008, 06:22:17 UTC
Sorry, you won't find any loyalties to any kingdom here, pirate or no.

Tell me, what are those kinds?

Kishishishi, and you didn't listen to me when I tried to explain it! You're just a dummy.

I told you, the Pirate King doesn't rule any country or kingdom. He's the man who's conquered the strength of the sea. It's a very admirable thing for pirates who like to dream!~

And those kinds? The new kinds of pirates, who don't believe in dreams like that. "Impossible, impossible," they say. Boring.

Strength of the sea? Sorry, not my thing. I'm a man of the skies.

Impossible? Maybe not. I'd prefer a more... sparkling goal, I think.

Oho~ Interrrestin'? Oh yes, ve-ry~ A sweet little kitten like myself has to be interesting to keep such a status as mine~ Hmmmhm... Pirate then? I know quite a few pirrrates where I come from, quaint empire called Aht Urhgan. Though they're called corsairs there. Bit more pompous, I'd say.

I don't rrreally remember if we've met, so sorry. I suppose if we have, you didn't leave much of an imprrression, but don't worry, there's always chance for that. Hmmm... I myself am Prresident Naja Salaheem. Leader of the Salaheem Sentinels (unfortunately their use here is at a minimum). I've learrrned that if you ever rrreally want a real drink, the gypsies have quite the stuff.

Maybe if you do manage to leave an impression on this kitten I'll offer you one~

...but you know, sometimes it's better to be a pirate and a poet. But alas, a minor shortcoming.

Funny how one little word can garner so much attention, isn't it? And to think, I was just going to put "pilot" there instead.

Corsairs? Don't see why one wouldn't just go ahead and call themselves what they are.

Ah, yes, I've read those notices you've put on the boards. Interesting enough group, but I think I'll have to pass on a join. The drink is tempting, however. We'll see what kind of impression we can leave.

My poetry involves an airship and an open sky. Both ingredients seem to be missing here, sadly.

The rrright word can easily sway a crowd, move a people, or destroy rrrelations~ That in itself could almost be weapons of a poet or any sort of wrriter.

Bah, why call Corsairs, Corsairs? Why call White and Black Mages what they are? 's'what they started as. Though the damn Middle Lands have some of their "pirate" low-class-thieving-scum. Folk develop differently in other lands around one little word and grrow.

.... We? You got some sorta dark, multiple personalities thing going on?

And the right sentence could mean the perfect escape.

One little word? Or one little thought? Whatever it is, it tends to get a nice, firm grasp on the mind and can be an annoyance to pry it out. And other times you simply can't. Those who hold onto it that much are what I like to call "fools."

Oh no. I'm simply referring to my partner.

A pirate, huh? I sometimes got mistaken as one of those... heh, thief too, of course. Guess that wasn't really a mistake though... I'm Zidane Tribal. You seem a bit interesting yourself. A shame I couldn't have met you instead of... others. Oh well. Things happen.

People are calling Paixao 'interesting.' Which... I find troubling. Do you think this city is? I didn't mind it at first, honestly. But I'm starting to itch to go home. Coupla months here is a real turnoff.

I'll avoid telling about myself that's I've become since I came here...

Beforehand I was living in a city called Alexandria. Beautiful doves, though the most beaut of them all was Garnet... She was here, too, for a time, but she came from a different timeline or something (I hate that) and didn't know me for who I was.

...heh, guess you got me talking. I suppose that's good. ... Yeah, yeah it is.

Thanks.

As many villains as there are heroes in this place, then? Well, no place is complete without them, I suppose. Otherwise we'd be lacking in excitement.

Find it interesting? A little. Haven't seen a place like this before, and there are quite a few personalities among the non natives. Don't think I'd like to stay here forever. Too many things to do.

Timelines, timelines, timelines... Rather bothersome, are they? I've only seen two examples, myself, but I'm already sick of them. Far too complicated for my tastes.

My pleasure.

Maybe more villains than heroes, even. Who knows. I think I'd rather this city being unbalanced, really. I could do with boredom versus that kind of excitement. But maybe you're a masochist, who knows.

freedominthesky February 16 2008, 09:24:45 UTC
A masochist? Hardly. A realist, more like. That's just the way of the world.

And if boredom were preferable to you, you wouldn't be a thief, or a pirate, or whatever it is that you do that makes you likened to them, would you?

A 'pirate' huh?

I thought those were gone with the days of damsels in distress and 'sailing the high seas'...

Take off those quotation marks and I would say you were exactly right.

Damsels in distress... Sadly, that's nothing more than a product of imagination, or so I've seen. Most of these so-called "damsels" are perfectly capable of taking up a sword and taking care of their captors on their own, as long as the odds are even. All you need to do is cut off the binds and hand them their tool of choice.

And I prefer the skies.

Hmmm, so you are a pirate? Tell me more? Most of the storybooks depict pirates as men who search for treasure, stopping at nothing to find it. I hope you can tell me that's wrong.

Heh, at least the storybooks were wrong on that. Women are so underrated in those. Always crying for help whenever a nail breaks...

'Sky Pirate?' So what, you hijack planes?

Reply

freedominthesky February 16 2008, 07:31:31 UTC
That depends on the treasure at the end. And I wouldn't say "stopping at nothing." Not all treasures are worth all that trouble. Bad enough when you have a troupe of bounty hunters after you.

Oh, I could name at least two people who wouldn't enjoy that stereotype. More, if I had your name.

"Planes?" I'll assume that's just another name for airships. And only if I need to make a quick escape and my ship's not there.
