Hey, just wondering, do you guys know any good songs out there about feminism, women's rights, or women's traditional roles and breaking out of them?

I prefer songs within the last 10 years if possible. Thanks.

Independance Day? I can't remember who did it originally but there is a cover of it on the soundtrack for Bend It Like Beckham. It seems to have that theme to it. But I can't remember the exact lyrics at the moment.

christina agueliara (howevger you spell it) that thing she did with little kim. her attempt at being a feminist while in hot pants. the lyrics are fairly feminist. i just don't trust her as one to spread the message. people would have taken it more seriously if she hadn't dressed like that.

i wish that i could, but i don't! i can't see her dressing like that in her house, when she is alone. i imagine she does it for media attention. even if she doesn't, even if she does do it because she wants to, she shouldn't have done it in that video. people weren't listening to her lyrics, they were looking at her body. its a shame with the world, but the world is biased against how you dress. if you want to be taken seriously, you have to dress that way.

I think that her dressing in such a provocative manner is her trying to make a statement that she SHOULD be allowed to dress like that and NOT be treated like a cheap prostitute. Freedom is beauty, and everyone should have the freedom to dress how they desire.
