Oh my, that leak does not sound good at all! I hope the landlord gets his butt in there and fixes it asap! That could cause problems with that area of floor/ceiling to have water passing through it. Blarg that there's already a problem with the new place. :(

I hope your dissertation tutor turns out okay. It's not going to do you any good if he pushes you too hard and makes you stress. *sigh* Hope he turns out to offer just enough push to help you get things done well and nothing over that. lol

We (me & tutor) generally get along quite well, so I'm hoping that will help. Also, I'm hoping to get on his good side quickly since I actually have worked on my topic over the summer :)

I think I'm going to try and find some putty in town and follow nimnod's advice... see if I can't fix the showerhead in place myself!

Why don't you put some hardening putty - something like Pratleys, although i'm not sure if that's only a local brand - on it and fix it in place?
