They serve a purpose for me.

A logical answer. And if their purpose is no longer valid to your needs? Do they still remain "important" regardless?

Do you keep around a broom after the brush breaks off?

...I suppose. [She agrees wholeheartedly to the logic, but what the metaphor is suggesting, not really.]

That's an obvious question. Some people are just more important than others.

Obvious questions do not necessarily have obvious answers.

...Why is that so?

Because they accomplish more? They're capable of more? They deserve more?

My father is a very great and powerful man. I can't think of anyone more important.

They deserve more...

In the scenario that your father is subjected to circumstances that strip him of his title and power, is he still considered "important" to you?

[She's not gonna admit she doesn't know. God no.]

Not knowing is illogical, isn't it?

The world isn't logical, and neither are most living things.

Do you have a "something" you consider both illogical yet...important to you?

Important? We-well... I think it's different for everyone, but for me... It's the people I care about. The ones who have showed me kindness a-and care for me to, I guess...

Kindness and care.

Is that all that makes a person "important" to you? If a stranger showed you the same degree of compassion as your companions did, would they be considered "important" as well?

We-well... Not exactly. I-I mean! Maybe after some time... But those are things that have made people important to me...

I suppose what makes a person important to me is how they affect the outcomes of my actions.

Even if your actions start to become illogical and unreasonable? What are the boundaries of "importance"? Or rather, what else defines "importance"?
