So as I was wandering wikipedia, I came upon this drawing of Vancouver in 1898.
Notice anything weird? False Creek is a wee bit larger than it should be, no? And there is no sign of Granville Island. (If you can't figure out the perspective, this was drawn by someone standing on the mountains in North Vancouver.)
So I spent a while this morning mapping out the original extent of False Creek on a
Google Map. My God there's been a lot of landfill put into False Creek in the last 100 years.
