So I was marathoning Arthur/Gwen vids, you know, as one does whenever one needs cheering up, and realized that I'd selected my ship song in “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri, which I'm sure every shipper ever has picked for their ship, but whatever, it's an A/G song, deal with it

OKAY, so this means I have to start watching Merlin again!! HOLY MOLEY! I fizzeled out in season 1 of Merlin...but I maybe have to get my butt in gear if this is the type of awesome I have to look forward to.

Do it, do it, do it! Season 1 is by far the weakest of the whole series. In my opinion, the show doesn't even really find its footing until episode eight, and the introduction of Mordred, which was when I finally realized how they were completely subverting the legend (i.e., Arthur & Morgana are not Mordred's parents, but they give him life all the same by saving him from death

Okay! I'm totally going to restart season 1 (haven't seen it in ages...well what I finished of it anyway) and just make myself get through it so I can move onto the better parts. Yay!!! I can't wait to get into the Arthur/Gwen stuff! WOOT!!

The first A/G hints I remember (not counting meta-jokes like "Who'd want to marry Arthur?" And "if you had to choose, Arthur or Lancelot?" are in 1x10, Moment of Truth, which is also my favorite S1 episode for that, and many other reasons. They're hinted at a couple more times late in S1, but by early season 2 it's clear that they are Show's OTP. Which is why I love Show.

But yeah, the painfully awkward Merlin/Gwen and Morgana/Arthur stuff in S1 is hard to get through. So glad those were dropped without comment so early on.

What a great collection of vids! Thank you for posting them all in one place, just for me. :)

I think I like #4 best, oddly enough. It's not nearly as flashy as the others, but I think it features all my favorite shots of Arthur and Gwen in about the order I like too.

I have to admit I've gone off the show a bit. This past series didn't do much for me, and the fandom is near-toxic, as far as I'm concerned. But I'm perfectly happy to just watch vids and be off in my own shippy corner.

I loved season four like a mad thing, but I agree with you as far as the fandom is concerned. The good thing is I'm used to hating the fandoms for my favorite shows and ships (I mean, I'm a Veronica Mars supporter and Angel/Cordy 'shipper), so I have perfected the art of putting my fingers in my ears and screaming la-la-la-can't-hear-you.

But yes, watching vids, and living in a shippy corner is good. I've actually been working on Count the Ways again since S4 ended, but not in order, and I don't know if I'll post it. I just want to know I've finished something, and gah, I love so much just hanging out with Arthur and Gwen in their quiet moments.
