» Summary
Good
- Entry separator is easy to customize
- Fonts are nice
- Text page title
Not so good
- Not very customizable
- Many elements share the same class(es)
- I didn't understand some of the class names
- No ID's or classes on some divs
» Special Features for A Novel Conundrum:
- Single column layout
- Comment links and date are in a sidebar on the entry
» Things I would change...
- I added a bit of padding between the entries and the comment links
- There is not a real container holding the layout together. I ended up using the body as a container and using "html" for my background and such.
- No container for the title and subtitle of the journal other than a generic div. I would like to give them a "banner" or "title" class or some such thing. I ended up styling the h1{} tag and adding negative margins to the rest to fake a container.
» Overall
This is a short review because there isn't much you can do with this layout. A Novel Conundrum is not difficult to work with, but there aren't many changes you can make to the overall look of the style. You can add backgrounds to certain elements, but positioning is pretty much already done. I think this layout is best customized with images. I like what I came up with for this style, but I will probably never work with it again.
