This is short and doesn't deal with gay marriages in a realistic way. Actually, it doesn't deal with anything in a realistic way. Just crack. Sorry Gerard.

What Alicia Wants (Gerard/Eliza/Alicia, PG)

This is the story of Gerard Way and how he ended up as best man at his girlfriend's wedding --

a girlfriend who was marrying his brother's ex-girlfriend (and now his girlfriend).

Alicia moved in with Gerard and Eliza after her break-up with Mikey. So first when the guys in the band asked, the answer was because she needed support. Of course Mikey might have needed some too, but a pretty barista was taking care of that.

Then they said it was because she hadn't found a good place yet.

And then because it wasn't a good time to move.

The guys stopped mentioning it when Gerard asked them if they really wanted to know.

The only person he was worried about was his brother, so he threaded the subject carefully, only to be met with excitement. Mikey made them all eat dinner together and turned up with his boyfriend, introducing them to him as "my fucking awesome brother Gerard and his two girlfriends Alicia and Eliza."

Being the worrying type, he prodded Mikey some more after dinner while Julian was showing the girls how to make a perfect latte, but Mikey only said that he was happy for them. "And you're happy?" Gerard asked.

Mikey grinned. "He makes really good coffee."

And that was it.

He decided not to tell his parents because why would he? Some things they just didn't need to know.

So his life was pretty much perfect and he thought things would stay that way until one day Alicia sat next to him, pouting slightly and wearing no make-up, something she knew made her look younger and more vulnerable. It looked like she had been crying.

"You know how I always wanted my dream wedding?"

"Yes," he said warily.

Alicia sniffed dramatically, something that almost made Gerard ask if she should put her hand against her forehead for added effect. "And it was so close."

"Um."

"I still want to get married some day." The way she was looking at him, she could have just as well said "today". Or now.

"Um, Alicia. You know I love you but I'm not the marrying kind and--"

She puts a finger on his lips, effectively quieting him. "I know and I would never ask that of you. But you know what? I could get married to Eliza. It's legal in New Jersey!"

If his life was a movie and he was a dashing blonde named Ingrid, this would be the perfect moment to faint. Instead he said 'oh' and looked like a fish.

And that's the little story of how he ended up in church, watching his girlfriends say 'I do' to each other while his parents were burning holes onto the back of his three piece suit.

Hopefully the cake will be worth it.

And the coffee.
