Okay, where was I heading with that? This is hard to write about because it links in to so much other stuff, and I'm very unsure how to go through it. Thanks classytart and andrewducker for comments, I want to get these ideas clearer in my head and that can probably best be done by discussion ( Read more... )

It does. Unless, of course, meditation merely shows you the inside of your own head, which is also, in its own way, infinite and eternal.

aha. that's where i figured you were going with it before. "God is beyond douhbt" not meaning that you cannot doubt the thing that is God, but rather that a name for the state of being beyond doubt can be called God.

i have often wondered whether spiritual systems are ways of describing states of awareness. the closest i got understanding my christian friends was after a church service where an incredible feeling of community and compassion was evident and my friend kept saying "Jesus is love". which can be understood as literal...the feeling of being always accepted, loved and forgiven is amazing and could be given a name.

these states of mind/being/heart have been visible to me at particular times and do seem to be transcendental. i have still not managed to meditate in my life...bumface.

keep writing please, its very interesting and well composed.
