Tim called me, which is great because I like talking to him. And he and Drew are the only two people who I can really trust when it comes to matters of education. My advsor's nice and all, but I feel twenty kinds of awkward around her ( Read more... )

Think of it this way: I am sure you were an excellent student in high school, no matter how bad american high school was at prepping its kids..if my slightly incompetent 23 year old brother made it through college, so can you

*laughs* You're so wonderfully supportive! Thank you. It means a lot to me that I've got cool people behind me. It's just rough not being edjumucationally confident, you know? College is wonderful when it comes to meeting new people and being a bit more independent and trying new things and exploring, but it's so weird! So much different.

People aren't on your back all the time. It's strange to not have people on your back all the time.

1) it's feels amazing to not have people on your back all the time.

2) the only way high school "preped" us was by giving more work than college does. if you can manage the constant homework in excessively structured highschool, you can manage the lesser workload in a considerably more relaxed environment.

3) office hours: go to them. whether or not you have a question about the material or an assignment, it's a good idea to get to know your professor.

4) math class just isn't the same w/out Liz Millikin beating on Kyle Anderson

this college life is odd...but you have just as much right being there as any one of those other colby-ites. I promise to send a care-package, quite soon (because mail is AMAZING!)
