I'm going to start tutoring English to a 21 year old woman who moved to the US 2 years ago from Iraq. Does anyone have any suggestions or words of wisdom?

I don't feel like the training sessions fully prepared me. I'm not a teacher. I don't know how to teach. They give us workbooks we can use, but most of them look really cheesy. I need

What are your plans for this weekend? I'm finally over my cold so I was hoping to have a girls night. Perhaps you could bring the workbooks and I could try to give some suggestions.

Teaching? Our specialty! We'll be here to help :)

Start with nouns with pictures and pronounciations. Then to verbs....make sure she can speak what she can write. Both are very important. Kelly may have better ideas as she is bilingual.
