He shook his head. "It is well done for a beginner, you just need finer control."
Omi smiled weakly. It was praise, at least, of a sort.
The fountain continues to leak water out of the gargoyle's mouth, triggered by the pressure the vines are putting on it. "Now then, try to clear your mind."
He nodded. "I'll try." Omi closed his eyes, trying to focus on nothing at all, to push all of his random thoughts away.
"Now when you are certain you feel nothing, make the flowers on those vines bloom. Focus solely on it."
Omi took a deep breath. He tried to focus on the vines, to make the flowers bloom. For a split second, though, his time at the flower shop with the others flashed through his mind, and he lost all control.
The flowers bloomed violently, bursting instantly into full-bloom then disintegrating with clouds of bright red pollen kicking up
The boy looked down. He'd failed.
The vampire looked at the results. "It was a very delicate work to attempt."
"I still messed up."
"I didn't expect success at the first attempt. I often had grand failures during my own apprenticeship"
"You did?"
"You haven't set anything on fire." Dracula pointed out.
"True..."
