Late to the party, but I'm doin' shots to catch up

Feb 03, 2013 17:03

So I saved up my birthday and Christmas money from my in-laws and other family, and I bought my first big splurge in forever.

This iPad has changed my life. I can even put it down flat on my lap and type just like it was a real keyboard. I'm in love.

What are your favorite apps?

dorketry, play from home

What a lovely happy birthday present to yourself :) And on that note, late very happy b-day wishes from me to you. Hope you had a nice one this year and a wonderful weekend.

I just got a Nook HD+ for x-mas, and I have to totally agree that those things are pretty awesome. I currently have a couple books, angry birds, some alligator water game, doodle god game, and a living aquarium live wallpaper. I figured I ought to stop there and wait a few months for more money before I bought anything else, lol.

Shazam. Spotify. Punchfork. Instagram. Pinterest. Workflowy. Dropbox. Dragon Dictation (when I was writing more, I did a lot of dictating to this -- it is brilliant).

Google Lifehacker's best iPad apps and see what they say. They're my authority on all things tech and they update those lists often.

That's cooooool!

Some of my favorites on my phone (which you may have used already) are:

8mm - for making old looking videos like 1920s, 60s, 70s

SloPro - for making slow motion videos - (I actually haven't used it much, but I think it was free.)

Synth - Free - Looks fun to dink around with. I've only seen video of this one because I have an app called Nanostudio that is cool as crap, but I don't use it enough to justify the $15 I paid for it.

Djay by Algoriddim - $20 - If you have any interest in DJing and mixing tracks, this thing is awesome. I completely suck at it, but it's still fun because it automatically figures out the tempo and you can create loops and stuff.

Sketchbook is supposed to be good for drawing. Paper by FiftyThree looks pretty nifty, too, but it looks like it gets expensive with all the add ons.

Art of Glow & Fluid Monkey - Both Free - I just got these to dink around with, but they are mesmerizing ( ... )
