What I did during my first week off

Last week, one of my dad's sisters and her family stayed with my parents. You may remember that Virginia is my favorite aunt, and that her daughter Stephanie is severely autistic. So when Steph makes a joke, even unintentionally, it tends to be awesome ( Read more... )

Cute story with your cousin.

"I'm just gonna go real fast over the curb." ROFL

And please tell me The Husband came home and said, "Missy, you've got some 'splaining to do!"

As usual, I vastly underestimated the amount of work and vastly overestimated my strength. This is so me.

I've been trying to do yard work the last couple of weeks, but I haven't made much progress yet. Someone (we assume it was our neighbor) had a bunch of limbs cut off the oak tree at the edge of our property and an oak on their property. Great! We don't care. Tree was dead anyway. But they left all the limbs in the yard, and some of them are too big for me to move by myself without cutting them up first...and I don't own a chainsaw. I hauled as many as I could to the burn pile though with the help of my trusty wheelbarrow. I found out I love the sound of wood hitting wood.

Lol, he at first just looked out the window and was all, "Wow, good job" (he was home super sick the day I did this, so yes, instead of taking care of him, I went off to chop at things) and then I made him come outside because I was all, "I don't think you're appreciating the magnitude of this destruction."

Seriously I love chopping, cracking, tossing... Basically doing anything with wood. If I ever find myself at your place, we will totally destroy the rest of those limbs.

My mom told him he was lucky his airbag didn't go off, and that he should wear the seatbelt next time. This is one of my favorite dad stories in a long time!
