Actually, though, finding out that I got a good deal on the window replacement helped me ease through it. The dealer wanted something lik 208 for the window. Which is what I figured it would cost. Then I found these guys, and they went from 158 then down to 150. Plus, they did it at our place, which was nice, too.
The only downside to those folks was that what was supposed to be a noonish appt became a 5:30 appt, as first the part didn't come up from san antonion on time, and then the installers were late to other jobs or something... But at least, with Emster's recent layoff, she was able to be at home the whole time.
I've kept the shattered glass around the car (instead of sweeping it up) so that other would-be burglers understand that I already gave at the office.
The weird thing was that I didn't notice it until I was going to work. I had taken the dogs down, gotten their bag (which rests right near the car), took them on their walk and replaced the bag, all without seeing this.
And the thing is, I thought our new location was relatively safe. Guess I know better now. But it's gotten me paranoid, where I have to make sure all valuables are out of the car and the car is locked and alarmed before I can go to sleep.
That's the worst thing about a robbery or break-in, that loss of feeling secure. Physical things can be replaced, but not feeling secure sucks all ass.
Yeah, well, at least it wasn;t $210. That is my main consolation. That, and that they didn't steal anything. Although, if they had taken my crappy HP Printer, I would have had an excuse to get a new one....
