Well, the coffee-in-lap lady story has more to it that's never mentioned.
It wasn't just a painful inconvenience. The coffee was so hot, the burns she received from it required skin grafts to attempt to heal. Putting the coffee in her mouth probably would have resulted in severe burns to the mouth, followed by the same burns to her legs as she dropped the coffee in shock. They investigated the McDonalds responsible, and found that the coffee was *well* over the safe temperature level.

Just because coffee is steaming doesn't mean it's hot enough to cause burns, right? The tea I have in front of me isn't steaming yet it's too hot for me to drink, but steaming coffee, that's safe to drink ...
