For one of my classes, I had to write a free verse poem about "things that remind [me] of childhood", and the era and place in which I grew up, with each stanza beginning with "I am from...". I haven't written a poem of any kind since maybe 10th grade, so forgive me if it's not the most, er, poetic...but I figured I'd share so y'all could enjoy the

Yeah, they were one of those trends, like Furbies and Beanie Babies, that were absurdly popular for a short while and then mostly died out. I miss them, though, they were fun toys. I had a frog one that broke, then I got a cat one, and later a baby one...which is kind of creepy if you think about it. D: Those things were like the precursor to the Petz and Babyz computer and video games and The Sims.

Very nice! This gave me lots of nostalgia moments, even though I was part of the brainstorming. And I really like the last stanza. :)
