Hypothetical !

I don't know if I ever want children, but for some reason parentless babies have been on my mind.
So I have a query:

If you were capable of having your own children but wanted to adopt, would you adopt before, after, or instead of having your own children? Why?

adopt instead of having my own child. i wouldn't be opposed to having a single child of my own, however i think that, in consideration of the world's present state, having any children of my own at could be reckless from a utilitarian standpoint. i know it may sound extreme but human population growth increases exponentially and we currently live in a violent world-with a finite amount of space and resources-that we as a society haven't properly planned for the future of our children in.
