Hi all! I have been so very busy that my planes for posting on a multitude of subjects has simply not happened. I have been so busy I have fallen far behind on keeping up with my friends page as well. Unfortunately I have come across something I simply could not avoid taking the time to write about ( Read more... )

Oh my god, ewwwwwwww! Poor you! That so sucks. Last summer, in the week before my sister's wedding, when none of us had time to deal with anything, I ended up with some kind of bugs, too. Mine weren't bedbugs, thank god; they were just something that started coming in through the (not very well sealed) window, but that was bad enough. Oh god. I hope you can get rid of them promptly. Hugz, dude.

Wow that really sucks guys! So you have to get a whole new bed? There is no way to salvage it or treat it? You guys have a futon right????? or am I imagining that?
Hope that the clothes can be saved, and that they didn't migrate to the rest of the apt. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
=(

It is really gross and upsetting. :( The bed is a writeoff because it is impossible to clean futons properly (or at all, really, because you can't get them wet) and the frame will also have to go.

So yeah, new bed. :S

Ouch. I know that beds aren't cheap... we're getting a new one for Xmas... So not even the frame is salvagable? .... sigh. Hey! You could get an Ikea bed! I'm trying to look on the bright side ....

See next post, but yes Ikea had crossed our mind. Something nicer then we have now I suspect will come out of this.

uhhh ew gross! that sucks a whole lot!

i guess bed bugs has been something of an epidemic in Halifax the last few years. When the people throw out their beds on the side of the street, garbage hunters pick them up not realising they're infested and the plague continues and gets passed along...

good luck with that! (note to self: dont' borrow alia's Ikea bed things anymore)

Apparently they'd treated 3 times already in individual apts before doing the whole building.

Am still totally grossed out, but I'm approaching it sanely and rationally. Mostly. ;)
