I found something I may wish to buy on e-bay, however as I have never made a purchase I have a question for those who have ( Read more... )

33% for anything over $20.00 Cdn unless it's declared as a gift or promotional as tarrif. (NAFTA actually stands for Not Another F*cking Trade Agreement.) Was supposed to be that any finished products were exempt up until $1200.00. Not true.

You also run the risk of Canadian customs shredding the contain or damaging your product which is they consider c'est la vie.

Generally seperately billed unless you have UPS or someone broker for you ahead of time.

All of my purchases have gone through pretty smoothly. If it's marked as a product then you'll definitely get dinged for duty, if not, you've got like a 50/50 shot, and you can just pay the remainder with like, upsor the shipper when you pick it up. It's just like, 10% of the cost, same as taxes, which you haven'[t paid anyway, so it's not unreasonable, or it hasn't been for me.
