Was it even possible? How could someone sane do that to someone else?  Animals could hurt and kill without any kind of remorse. Humans couldn’t. Humans shouldn’t. Humans shouldn’t be able to do to other humans what they could not bear themselves. There should be some kind of law from Nature itself that would prevent humankind to be… humanlike.

Squalo realized he was praying against something that was supposed to be. Humans were born to make humans suffer. A good life was a life full of pain and disappointment. You could have a better life than the other, by hurting more and more than him. Being the first to hurt. Being the last to get hurt.

He always knew Dino was some kind of weird guy. But he liked him, in his own way. Dino was the type of boy on whom you can depend. Someone you could trust. Someone who would maybe give his life to save someone else. A man that would always go against Nature’s laws, and who would never hurt anyone. A man that would fight against injustice, who would claim honour as his sword.

Maybe Dino was a part of the worst kind of people. People who wanted so badly to do good, that they ended up hurting the ones they wanted to protect. To be brave, they would play unfair without noticing. This kind of people had no sense of what was really fair, and what was not.

Dino would be a good leader, and probably a good man. But he would always be the worst part of the humankind. Squalo would never forgive that kind of man, he decided. He would be the exact opposite of Dino. The bad guy. The guy who, when he’ll hurt, will do it and will know it. Yes. Squalo would leave his broken side, and become Dino’s Nemesis. That would be his only comfort, in a world where Nature’s laws were against his own convictions. .
