I haven't reviewed the latest episode of Hannibal, "The Great Red Dragon",yet it was probably the best so far.

Well, if you're willing to turn a blind eye on three absurd and ridiculous things:

Agree, this ep was a total return to form for the show! I was so happy. Though as Alan S pointed out, it might be hard to follow if you hadn't read the book or seen one of the previous movies. But who cares! RA already better than RF in the role. (I haven't yet seen ManhunterI wondered whether Hannibal's cell was meant to be taken literally, if maybe we're seeing it as he kinds of fantasizes it to be, even as inside he's also fantasizing about attending a concert in the Sicilian chapel. Though when we see him and Chilton sit down to that dessert together, that theory got kind of blown, because they talk about the food, which seemed to indicate that it wasn't a metaphor in their conversation but actually happening ( ... )

Ralph Fiennes was so wrong for the role. I can't actually recall the actor in Manhunter!

Do you think we'll have any return to Bedelia? I guess she'll be back. On the one hand I want her to come back because Gillian Anderson was great in the role (and I miss her wardrobe!); on the other hand I can't think of a way Bedelia's return wouldn't be absurd and filled with plot-holes, given that Hannibal has been officially declared insane now (so no trial) and that neither Jack nor Will believed her story...

This was a great recap!! As always, your observations are brilliant. (Although I don't think that is actually his cell...I think we are seeing overlapping and overlapping of mind palaces and how others perceive him.)

Armitage is stealing this last season and I'm okay with that. They took Will and his design as far as it will go. Perhaps he really is part of a luciferian triangle now...I'm so happy to see Hannibal back to its best recipe!

Although I don't think that is actually his cell...I think we are seeing overlapping and overlapping of mind palaces and how others perceive him.I wish it were but I don't believe it given that Alanna herself commented on the cell and threatened Hannibal to take away all "the niceties" it had. I guess it was a way to justify the extravagant cell...and the threat about "indignity" kinda worked (Hannibal is such a snob!) but it's still ridiculous just as ridiculous Alana's position of power and general storyline are ( ... )
