ENROLLMENT Wealthy family.

APPEARANCE: ooh la la
PERSONALITY: Yoh is, in a nutshell, a "glass half empty" type of guy who's a bit insecure but not ashamed of any of his emotions.  He's a very distant and isolated person; he likes being by himself and hates crowds and working with people. He has absolutely no tolerance for stupidity and no patience for people who can't understand something that comes easily for him. Although this is how Yoh seems at first, this isn't everything that there is to him.

Unlike others in the series as a whole, Yoh isn’t very discreet with his feelings, be they positive or negative. In the original canon, whenever the subject of Tsukiko and romantic feelings is brought up, he won’t hesitate to say something along the lines of “It’s alright, because I really like you!” or “Because I like you…”. Physical contact isn’t a problem either, as he is more than happy to kiss her cheek and embrace her in public and in private. In terms of other social interactions... he's just not very good at them. Yoh is picky; he'll point out flaws in personality, shoot down any idea someone may have in favour of his own, and just has a general "holier than thou" attitude. He's not afraid to bitch out people in French either, or just use it to enhance his speech or make a point.

Yoh doesn’t have a short temper, but getting him angry isn’t the best idea in the world. To protect those who he cares about, he’ll start with words to solve conflicts but will resort to violence if he needs to. Despite his thin, frail and “feminine” appearance, he can throw in quite a few good punches if the situation calls for it. He can also be a pretty good mediator, as long as it's beneficial to him and it stops the other parties from being annoying.

In a way, Yoh could be viewed as a little smug or arrogant. In the beginning of the series, the result of his closed-off heart tends to be that he views himself as higher than others. He believes that only he is fit for Tsukiko’s affections, no one else is deserving of her, and that anyone who thinks otherwise is obviously stupid and delusional.

As demonstrated throughout the game, Yoh is a bit of a glutton - he simply loves food. Not just French food either, but anything made well that’s set in front of him. He’s playfully teased for this, but doesn’t see anything wrong with it at all. He’s also able to maintain that very nice girlish figure, considering all those carbs he takes in every day. Amazing, isn’t it?

In summary, Yoh Tomoe is a  shameless romantic, a heavy eater, a guy with trust issues, and hopelessly in love. He’s quite the looker to boot.

COMPUTER APTITUDE: Average knowledge of internet and program usage, such as email and word processing programs.
WEAKNESSES (OPTIONAL): He just doesn't communicate well with people. He's kind of quiet as well, unless he feels the need to voice his opinion. Which can be a lot, depending on his mood.

AU HISTORY: For Yoh, only one part of his original history will be retained, and that is his meeting of Tsukiko when he was six years old. He was always teased for being a "halfer" in cultural background, and was never accepted because of not being pure French or pure Japanese.
Having lost his telescope while stargazing, it is returned to him by a beautiful little girl by the name of Tsukiko Yahisa. Yoh expects her to tease him about his "un-Japanese" looks like most children he meets, but she doesn't. Instead, she admires his looks and says he has pretty eyes. This comes as a surprise to Yoh, so he opens up a little. It turns out that the both of them have a passion for the stars, hoping to study them someday. Her and Yoh become fast friends, even if only for that moment. He tells her his French name, which proves to be a bit hard for her to pronounce. Instead, he tells her his Japanese name as well. Since the Japanese character for Yoh (羊) is the same as "sheep" (羊 , hitsuji), Tsukiko gives him the nickname "Hitsuji-kun". From this moment on, Yoh vowed to find her again, even though they would probably never see each other after that.

Yoh comes from a family of means; both of his parents are astronomers, and make a great deal of money. Starting from when he was in 7th grade, they sent him to Reims Academy to become more independent and make friends, much to his dismay. He wanted to go to school in Japan because he knew that's where Tsukiko would be attending. It was a longshot, but he still resisted until finally giving in to his parent's wishes.
His first semester at Reims wasn't pleasant. Trying to do what his parents said and turn over a new leaf to start fresh, he attempted to make friends. Not having many social skills prior to this, it didn't really work well. Learning from his "mistakes" of assuming people would like him, he simply stopped trying to make friends. He worked alone on projects, didn't join any clubs, and pretty much stopped himself from being sympathetic towards anyone or anything.

In his first year of high school he received a few confessions from girls, but he rejected them all. It might be a little creepy and futile, but he's always hoped that Tsukiko might transfer to Reims one day and they could be together. Now it's a new semester, and Yoh's expecting it to be like usual...

[ the feed clicks on, showing a rub red haired boy. he has quite the scowl on his face, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to tell that he isn't happy. ]

So, I've heard from the principal that Reims Académie is going to begin accepting a much higher number of students this semester. Isn't that amazing.

[ he sighs, rolling his equally red eyes. just what he always wanted; more people to deal with. why couldn't this school just stay small and obscure, the way it used to be? ]

I guess the only thing to say is bienvenue à Reims. Don't expect any warmer welcome than that, you'll be severely disappointed. You aren't special because you were able to come to this school, whether it be on scholarship or otherwise. You have no right to get cocky.

I know this school better than most, but that doesn't mean i'm an open book for questions. If you would be so inclined, leave me be. Merci.

[ and the feed clicks off. rude? maybe so. that's just how he is. ]

LOG/3RD PERSON SAMPLE

If there was one thing Yoh loved about this school, it was the view of the sky.

It was a bit of a secret of Yoh's that he had a passion for the sky. Anyone that talked to him would usually get a bored, holier-than-thou response that drove people away like poison. He liked it that way; who needed friends anyway? It's not as if people really cared about anyone other than themselves, so he didn't see any reason why he should.

But, there was always this place to come back to. Right on the roof of the Academy, it was as if Yoh was the only one who knew about it. On any night he was free, he would climb up and set up his telescope to watch the stars. The good thing about Reims was that it was far away from any large, bustling cities. If it were, the view would definitely be obscured by all the bright lights. They were on a secluded island though, which meant the cool, crisp and fresh night air, mixed with the sound of waves at low tide. It was about as close to being happy as he could get at this school, and Yoh took refuge in it whenever he could.

Tomorrow, they would be coming. The new students would come by ferry and invade the halls of the Academy like rats. This could very well be his last night of peace and quiet.

But little did he know, it would really be the first day that he would start living.
