you know. i was just thinking. if people from family values groups feel like representations of gay lifestyle will ruin the whole family structure, doesn't that inherently suggest that the family structure isn't natural to start with? i mean if it were totally natural for everyone, people wouldn't be *swayed* by gays... right? they'd be all "w/e we like porking and having a bunch of kids and not getting divorced EVER because it's NATURE'S WAY."
i see what youre saying but i think the crux of the argument against the propagation of gay culture in the media is that it will somehow "make" younger people "turn" gay or see it as an acceptable lifestyle.
which it is. i dont agree with this point of view but i think thats the real thrust of it.
i think. its hard for me to understand retarded people.
yeah but i guess that is coming from people who probably *ARE* gay but since their church or whatever says it's wrong they get married because it's the natural thing to do.
i mean, really. if you watch will and grace, do you really want to be like will or jack given that you are a straight male? I mean there is so much of a negative stigma attached to being emasculated or feminine that I don't think little boys will want to be like those kind of characters unless they see something they can relate to in the way that they act. cause, i mean, those are certianly not subtle characters and are almost over the top in the way that they are portrayed.
sorry about my sentence structure. i have been typing a lot to someone who never uses punctuation (EVER) and i think it has affected me.
youre trying to apply logic to arguments put forth by complete idiots. youre right, absolutely.
but these people are obviously morons and lack any sort of sense of realistic process of thought.
but to boil their argument down even further i really really just think its about the fear they have of the widespanning acceptance for something they feel fundamentally opposed to.
