AI is the process of enabling machines to learn, then apply knowledge, through programming. It is a mechanical process without biological implications.
Morality is a biological question, an interpretation of human actions. Don't get hung up on whether AI itself is moral, but whether humans writing AI programs into machines is. Then ask yourself is that any more or less moral then writing software games that allow people to kill for fun, or rip off music, dvds, etc.
That's just my opinion though. Who knows what your instructor may think. That's the thing with philosiphy, no absolute right or wrong, it's all about what the prof thinks or maybe even what mood they're in that day, or if they even like you. Is that moral?
