Broken Glass // super junior: kisung, kihae // au, angst // g // If you shift too much, you’ll lose you’re reflection in the glass and you’ll never find it again.

Side Story to Letters and Wind Chimes
He can’t stand glass anymore; can’t even walk by it. He lives in a sheltered home, no windows, no sunlight to stream against his face as he awakens alone, and you can’t help but cry for him. You cry for him because he can no longer cry, months of continuous wailing rendering his tear ducts dry. You cry because you know you did this to him; because you know you lied when you said you wouldn’t leave then. And now he shut himself off from the world, hiding away in his windowless den. “I am sorry,” slips off your tongue before you know it but silence is the response you get. You fidget as you sit. You’re waiting for something to happen. You’re begging him mentally to say something because if he doesn’t you may just slap him. The guilt is too much. You didn’t think it would hurt this much and now you wish you never left. It’s too late.

“Why do you come see me?”

“Why don’t you talk to me?”

“Answer my question Kibum.”

“I don’t know what to tell you, Yesung.”

“That’s not my name.”

“What happened? You’re not the same.”

“ANSWER THE QUESTION KIBUM.” He yells at you and you step back in fear over what he may do. You know he’s hurting inside but you have no idea how to make it right. You left because Donghae had stolen your hear; you had no idea your feelings would dart back and forth, between the lines, but you never once saw the signs. Donghae played with you like he did Kyuhyun and by the time you returned, the damage to Yesung was done.

“Maybe…I realize-

“In less vague terms. I’m human, not some alien beyond the skies.”

“Jongwoon, do you love me?

“Jongwoon, are you in love with me?”

“I don’t see how I cannot be.”

“Um, I didn’t hear you; could you repeat that please.”

“No, Kibum, I don’t. Now get away from me, geez.”

He’s loved you ever since he saw you behind the glass, outside. You know this and you wonder why he lied. You two didn’t really match; you were shy, he was wild. But he was sweet. You recall that after a while he told you that you had a beautiful smile. You told him that he was one of a kind and soon after you fell in love. You both obviously were in the same mind. Tossed chuckles and husky voices through your expensive satin sheets, it deepened. To your surprise it lasted longer than a weekend. But then a sly fish disrupted your pond of joy. You felt lost for you were falling for the smaller boy. You didn’t tell Yesung, you just left but you figured he knew because at times he was deft. The boy who attracted you wasn’t going to last. He was only after bait to reel in someone else fast. By that time Jongwoon took a turn for the worse and now you wish ever time he saw you, he didn’t curse.

He knows you can’t stand to see him this way; you know he knows what you want to say.

“Jongwoon, come back to me.”

“Kibum, I’m afraid that again, you’ll break me.”

You two think after he kicks you out, both of your hearts filled with buckets of doubt. But a few minutes later your minds unite.

“I don’t know if I’ll ever be happy without him, my light.”

As you walk back with tears falling down, you can sense the stares of those in town. You wonder if things would be better if you met behind a mirror; the image of you two would never fade and your heart would be clearer.

You rocked too much behind the glass. It was a sign that your relationship wouldn’t last.
