Basically Christina knew that the proposal was coming. We had been seriously talking marriage for several months. Her parents already expected it. She knew I was already shopping for a diamond. I wanted to do it on or before Valentine’s Day. I ended up buying the ring in NYC on Chinese New Year’s Eve… not just that,

Time for a general question... do guys normally pay for an engagement ring with cash, credit, get a loan, payment plan, etc? I always wondered how a young man would just throw out thousands of dollars for a diamond... I guess I'm too naive to accept one! =(

Oh and how long have you been with Christina? Like 5 years or something, right? =)
