I hate the times when I realize there are some people who deserve my attention who don't get enough of it, and there are other people who don't deserve (or even really care about) my attention that I give way too much of it to.

Because we are human, and we are selfish. We give attention to those who don't deserve it so that we can get it back from them. We don't give attention to those who do, because we already get it from them.

I agree. I feel this way about the Lord sometimes. I bet it's even more frustrating on the other end, when you're the person who should be getting the attention because of the time, effort and sincerity you put into the relationship and you hardly get anything back.
