Vaguely aware that a scene had been caused, Annie kept her eyes on Derek as he watched her. The heat she saw there made her entire body warm from the inside out and she took a quiet breath to steady herself further.
His statement made her laugh as she came around the table. Poker face or not, his double-meaning was entirely clear and, as she passed him, she paused at his side to give him a slow look up and down. Her voice was practically a purr when she spoke. "That depends on how good your aim is, Derek. Let's see, shall we?"
She gave him a wink before turning her back on him, focused once more - and yet, not at all - on the pool table in front of her. Well aware that distraction was a two way street, Annie was actually wondering if they were going to make it through the entire game... and she suddenly didn't care if they didn't.
