Hmm. That is a really difficult question! I've been on trips to Costa Rica, Bermuda, London, Paris, and Rome, and I was with my family so we did take lots of pictures. I think it really depends on if you -want- pictures. If you do, then taking them will be a really fun part of the experiance and enhance it. However, if you're a fourteen year old who just doesn't want to be late to Wimbledon becuase you're dying to see your favorite tennis player, hold ups like photo ops are just obnoxious. I keep a journal when I go places, and for me, I'd much rather read that and remember how we felt looking at those places, funny things people said and ridiculous mishaps with tickets and ruined hotel reservations.
Oohhh!!!!! Where you going? Yes, definatley take pictures!!!! You'll be more likely to remember it that way and it will serve as a reminder for the future when you want to re-live the experience.
Well ... both. It takes your attention away a bit from what you're experiencing, but it also offers wonderful memories for later on. I'd suggest trying to balance it a bit -- take some shots, but don't go through the thing with a camera glued to your eye.
