If you are joining me in exacting justice on the man responsible for attempting to blow up the creature, tell me your name and any special abilities you may have that would aid us
( Read more... )
I'm not going to say anything about this plan of yours (which, by the way, has absolutely nothing to do with justice) since everyone else is saying what I would say, but let me just make one thing clear to you.
This was never the monster's city. And we cannot live with it.
That thing came from nowhere, attacked this city and tore it and all of its exits out to pieces, and killed hundreds of thousands of people among those not lucky enough to evacuate. It's attacked multiple times since then, completely unprovoked. You are an idiot to think otherwise. This is not its city.
And if we cannot live with it, we must bide our time until a less harmful, destructive, and blatantly stupid solution presents itself.
For how much help the city needs, its more vocal members seem to be perfectly content arguing against something that will apparently be of no consequence.
You're talking about lynching a man without a trial so how is that justice? Now is not the time nor place for more chaos like that. How can you call yourself a commander if you don't take the notion of keeping the little order we have together. This isn't a war this is a disaster.
Any courts that existed here are long since destroyed. The law cannot decide everything. Though who among you can deny that Axel is in fact guilty of lighting the explosives that caused the rampage? With this agent of chaos eliminated, order can reign once again.
Courts aren't just buildings. They are people...just as a government or a military is a collection of people who work together to keep peace. If the law does not decide things then you get chaos and as bad as it is now I do not want to see it spiral out of control. It may be gratifying to kill him at first but then what? The monster attacks again and we blame someone else?
Axel lit the fuse this is true but he was doing it to potentially take down a great threat...it was no different than the trap another group set for a mass of crabs...the only difference is that one worked and the other didn't.
It was a plan, it backfired, and while it may seem unfair that we all suffer that's just life. We grow stronger from this and move on.
There are no laws here. We are in the midst of chaos. With one less person causing it, we can grow closer to order.
It will take more weaponry than anyone here can provide to destroy the creature. We knew this. The fault is mine for not standing up and stopping it while I could, but I spoke up more than any others. The time has come for me to raise my voice again. I am acting to prevent this from happening again.

I don't know why everyone's acting like you've pissed in their cereal by suggesting we lynch the sucker.
