I had been expecting the city to have mercy on us this week, after the crisis that was the last. And yet, unsurprisingly, that is entirely not the case. And so close to Christmas.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, what happened this time?

So help me God, this city may have taken Thanksgiving from me, but I will pass through the gates ( Read more... )

Well. Righteous anger aside.... That's the spirit! A bit of Christmas may be exactly what this city needs, and it really shouldn't be spent like this. In that light, I will be one of two reading from the Scriptures during the midnight Mass at Trinity Church on Christmas. If you would prefer to have a proper Christmas, you are cordially invited to join us.

I keep hearing there's no food...is that true?

Yes, that is true. Do not remind me.

But you are also right. And many of us are doing what we can. But it is difficult when the city seems determined to eradicate us.
